A power sunroof is optional for the first time on the 2003 version of the Dodge Caravan. All Caravans seat seven and have two sliding side doors. Regular-length versions drop their Sport trim level, leaving a lone SE model. The extended-length Dodge Caravan drops their eL and eX versions. Front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is available on Grand Caravans. Regular-length models use a 4-cyl engine or a 3.3-liter V6. Grands offer power operation for both side doors. Standard for the top-line Grand ES and optional on Grand Sport is a power lift gate. An available center console with internal power outlet can be placed between the front or 2nd-row seats. And the optional adjustable-height rear parcel shelf has pop-up storage dividers. The 3rd-row seats don't fold into the floor, but a 50-50 split 3rd-row bench is available. Each portion weighs 55 lb and can be removed, reclined, or folded flat.
The sunroof option is exclusive to the Dodge Caravan Grand ES models in 2004. Grands also offer a DVD rear-seat entertainment system. Optional power-adjustable brake and accelerator pedals are new '04 options on all models. A tire-pressure monitor is available on ES versions. Caravan shares its design with the Chrysler Town & Country and Voyager. Grand refers to the length. Grand Caravan models are significantly longer (by 11 inches) than Caravan models. The Dodge Caravan Caravan SE comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, hand-crank windows, and a limited list of options. Caravan Sport and Grand Caravan Sport models come standard with the 3.3-liter V6, plus tilt steering, power door locks, power heated mirrors, speed control, a rear-window defroster and anti-lock brakes. The Grand-length Sport gets fancier seats with upgraded cloth, and a standard rear defroster, three-zone climate control, and a heavy-duty alternator. A 3.8-liter V6 is offered as an option.

People either like the relatively cushy seats in GM trucks or they don't. One finds a noticeable lack of side bolstering and does not feel the front seats do justice to the Chevrolet TrailBlazer 's nice ride. The seats come in cloth fabric or rich-feeling leather. Seat adjustments are manual in LS. Eight-way power operation with memory (including outside mirror adjustment) and seat heaters is available on fully optioned LT models. Chevrolet says the Chevrolet TrailBlazer 's front bucket seats are designed to accommodate heights ranging from 4 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches. Standard-wheelbase Trail Blazers seat five passengers, while Trail Blazer EXTs seat seven. The main advantage of the EXT is that third row. Second-row space is nearly identical between Trail Blazer and Trail Blazer EXT. Both offer more room in the second row than the Ford Explorer. A monochrome instrument panel is new for 2004. The instrumentation is complete and clean. A big tachometer is on the left, speedometer in center, and on the right are smaller gauges for water, battery, gas and oil.
